OUR CANVAS

CAMi began as a vineyard which my husband, Tom Shelton, and I purchased in the year 2000. Our small patch of arid Napa Valley land sits north of St. Helena, bordering the Selby Creek and the Silverado Trail. We lovingly call our family sanctuary the Trail House.

As wine industry veterans ourselves, Tom and I were delighted to have the blessing of renowned viticulturist David Abreu who called our land “real Cabernet dirt”. CAMi vineyard produces low-yielding, loose-bunch grape clusters which develop intense, deep flavors.

When Tom died in 2008, I felt his spirit passed into these vines. To honor his spirit, we discussed making our own wine out of the fruit. The idea of creating a healing wine for our family took root and in 2013 we made the first vintage of CAMi. The wine is intended to celebrate the memories we have gathered, and the memories we have yet to create.

We hope you will share CAMi with those you love - celebrating and creating memories, together.

TOM SHELTON

1953-2008

“These wines are a tribute to Tom Shelton and his great love of the Napa Valley, family and friends.” — Laurie Shelton

Tom Shelton worked tirelessly for his entire career as a steward of the Napa Valley. We share this CAMi wine in dedication to his living legacy. Every year we make a donation in Tom’s memory to foundations that he cared for deeply.
