Our Philosophy

July 2016 marked the release of our first vintage, 2013 CAMi Red Wine and Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2006, we replanted the Cabernet vineyard in 101-14 rootstock and the 337 Clone. This clone produces small clusters of tiny berries with intense fruit and soft tannins. Our CAMi Merlot was planted in 1996 from the Three Palms Vineyards clone. These clusters produce a Merlot with complex fruit and mineral layers. Together these wines make up our 2014 CAMi Red Wine in the classic Bordeaux style. With only two acres of 100% estate grown grapes, CAMi is highly allocated.

Our farmer uses a hands-off, let the site drive the wine philosophy. Cane-pruned and green-farmed, our vines are not allowed herbicides or synthetic fertilizers. Grapes from this land are low-yielding and loose-bunch, with berry-size that is roughly 35-40% smaller than the Napa Valley average.
